Marilyn is the Director of Instruction and Assessment, and Director of the Gateway Initiative at the Boston Architectural College.

Marilyn earned her BS Arch, BA History, and M.Arch from the University of Virginia. Before coming to the BAC full time, Marilyn taught at Northeastern University and the BAC, and has lectured and been on reviews at UC Berkeley, Cincinnati, Harvard GSD, and UVA. She has worked as an architectural designer for Utile, Inc in Boston, as well as a construction project manager and contractor in Virginia for several years. Marilyn was also the recipient of the 2010 SOM Prize, which enabled her to conduct research on vernacular residential climate mediation strategies in 11 countries around the world. Her research and teaching focus on the intersection of design and construction, sustainability/affordability/prefabrication in design and construction, and alternate modes of practice.

Marilyn is also a founding member of the Productive Collective.
